Are you familiar with the multiverse theory? The idea that countless parallel universes co-exist next to one another, but that none of them could ever interact with one another? What if I told you that that theory is true?
Every universe has it’s own guardian. For us, this would be the one that we often refer to as “God”. His existence has been well documented, and various religions have started around him. Just like humans, these guardians each have their own personality. They can be tender and loving… but in some cases, they can be cruel.
There once was a cruel guardian called Meriva; the goddess of despair. She created the world of Evelaire out of boredom, and because she wished to have something to rule over, like other guardians did. She created life, a world for it to live on, and the consciousness that lives in all of it’s inhabitants. However much like her title would indicate, Meriva was a woman that loved the despair of others; In fact so much so, that it corrupted her further. It became her source of nutrition, and her victims were the ones she once created out of boredom.
To feed off the despair of it’s inhabitants, Meriva started a viscious cycle, in which she destroyed Evelaire, only to return it to it’s former glory once more, with it’s inhabitants still alive. Although they returned from the dead, they remembered the destruction of the planet, not to mention how painful it was to die. Of course, one would imagine the despair and fear that resulted from this; more than enough to feed Meriva for a long time. Because of this, Meriva only returned every turn of the era, to destroy the planet once more, and feed off of the despair of it’s inhabitants once they got revived.
However, Meriva’s cycle had a side effect. Thanks to the fact that she restored the world, traces of her magic remained there, something that grew stronger and stronger each time that Meriva returned to destroy the world once more.
As a result, Meriva unawarely gave birth to a new species that reacted heavily to the now present magic in the world’s crust; The Teragon were born. Teragon are creatures with an extremely powerful affinity towards a specific element, and thanks to the reaction with Meriva’s magic, their affinity grew even more powerful. It came to a point where even the ecosystem around them started to bend to their elemental affinity. Thanks to the many that were there, perfect storms battered the surface of the planet. Many teragon died thanks to the resulting storms, until finally, they decided it would be best to separate themselves from one another. With just 7 remaining, Evelaire now had 7 destinct biomes, separated perfectly from one another:
- eternal darkness
- eternal light
- forest
- mountainous
- ice
- lake
- jungle
- eternal light

- lake
- jungle
With the destinction between different biomes, species started to migrate towards the biomes they felt most affinity towards. They started evolving further from there, creating a very diverse ecosystem in the world. Many different magical species roam the world now, with various sub-species that evolved from the migration.
